Overview

FTI K9 specializes in adult trained protection European German Shepherds for families, individuals, executives, law enforcement, and security. We also offer select puppies, many of which have been instilled with our basic obedience skills.  Our kennel includes both “Show Line” (black and red) and “Working Line” (sable, black, or black and tan) German Shepherds from the most sought after European bloodlines available.  All our dogs have been hand selected and tested by Raul to ensure they meet his exacting standards for temperament, health, drive, and sociability.

Choosing a dog to meet your, your family, and/or your work environment needs is a very personal and customized process.  Knowing how to select your “right” dog is is one of the many benefits that differentiates FTI K9 from others.  This important process begins with a one-on-one phone consultation with Raul Hernandez.

All our dogs are located at our 32 acre North Central Florida private facility.  If a dog that meets your specifications is not on-site, we have a network of kennels and available dogs throughout Europe.

All FTI K9 dogs come with an extensive veterinary check and Health Guarantee.  If the dogs are imported they will come with their AKC registration, as well as German FCI/SV Pink papers. If the dogs are born in the USA they will come with their AKC registration.

Adult Dogs

Adult Dogs

The FTI K9 Adult European German Shepherd is trained to the highest levels of obedience and protection using Raul Hernandez’s unique and proprietary training methods.  The ages of our adult German Shepherds range from 12 months and older.  These exceptional canines are loyal, obedient, and trustworthy companions - a family member and friend that will give you the peace of mind that comes from having a vigilant defender watching over you.

Our adult dogs are trained in both voice and silent signal commands, and are adaptable to a myriad of situations.  We stress socialization and obedience in “real-life” situations.  The FTI K9 facility also includes horses, chickens, cats and various other wildlife, which affords our dogs the experience to be socialized and trained around many animals.

An obedient and happy dog is the foundation of the FTI K9 adult trained German Shepherd.  We also pride ourselves on their ability to protect.  By no means are our dogs mean or vicious - they are not trained to attack.  Rather, our dogs are trained to protect their owners and family.  They are trained to bite and hold, or simply hold as is reasonable, and will respond immediately to your commands.

Beyond their advanced skills, our adult dogs can be trained to meet your specific requirements.  This may include service for disabilities, being around horses, searching your home for intruders, advanced agility, tracking, working on boats, being in hectic offices or crowded retail stores, working in movies, etc.  We have the experience and know-how to train our dogs for almost any task.

Puppies

Puppies

Our puppies range in age from 8 weeks to 6 months.  FTI K9 selectively breeds European German Shepherds for the intelligence, courage, and dependability for which the German Shepherd is renowned. Our V rated Schutzhund/IPO titled dogs are carefully chosen from the finest bloodlines and kennels of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, and throughout Europe. The German Shepherds in our Breeding Program consistently produce well balanced, driven, dedicated dogs with the solid temperament and grace that exceeds even the highest German standards required for the breed.  Our puppies come with AKC registration, and those that are imports also come with their European Pedigree.

We pride ourselves on our puppy program, and believe in building a solid foundation with positive reinforcement, good socialization, and drive.  Raul Hernandez instills basic obedience skills and drive in the FTI K9 puppies.  This unique and fun process for the puppy sets the stage for future positive reinforcement training. The first 16 weeks of a puppy's life are perhaps the most important. Our European German Shepherd puppies are started from an early age in proper socialization and learning their basic puppy obedience. They are worked daily around our training facility, and learn to get along and work around many different types of distractions such as other dogs, horses, tortoises, chickens, cats, and people.  As the puppies mature we begin to increase their level of distractions by taking them off the FTI K9 facility and working them around town.  This allows the puppy to become well rounded.

All of our training consists of positive reinforcement and maintaining the drive. With our methods, we are able to give each a puppy a good base in obedience and socialization without putting too much pressure on them.

LE & Security

LE & Security

Raul Hernandez is the K-9 unit trainer for the Key West Police Department and Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, and provides K-9 seminars to many law enforcement agencies.  That, coupled with his long-term experience as a law enforcement K-9 Sergeant and handler, gives him the understanding and know-how to select and train canines specifically for law enforcement and security applications.

Over the years, Raul has sold hundreds of K-9’s to agencies across the United States.  Time and time again our dogs have graduated top-of-the-class in their patrol schools, and have gone on to prove themselves invaluable in the field.

Raul personally tests each dog to ensure he/she meets the stringent requirements necessary to work in a law enforcement or high-level security environment.  These requirements include, but are not limited to, a strong bite, great nerves, high ball drive, good hunt drive, workability, and agility. FTI K9 offers both single and dual purpose Working Line K-9’s, and both “green” and more advanced level trained dogs.

Law Enforcement references are available upon request. For information on available K-9’s for law enforcement or security, please contact us at (310) 909-7795 by email at info@ftik9.com or:
